Have you ever wondered how an Aspiring Scientist/Russian model stays fabulous during the work week? To find the answer, we caught up with Débonnaire girl, Elizaveta Vladmirnovna, who is Biology Major and Public Health minor at NOVA Southeastern University.

She admits, after a week of conducting lab experiments, extensive reading and attending exclusive fashion events, keeping up with appearances can be a lot. Nevertheless, here is what she had to say:

Personal Appearance

“I have always felt the need to look my best- even before I started modeling at age 16..However, between working and studying, my exhaustion at the end of the day started to have a huge impact on my appearance. But thanks to a few of my favorite items, my hair and skin have been able to withstand the stress and fatigue.”

“So about the Skin…Like many ladies, I cleanse my face twice a day-no more no less. I really stress this because over-washing (yes, it’s possible) can damage the microflora of the skin.”

Under Eye Care

“The eyes are the mirror of the soul, and of AGE! Every day I use Perricone MD. The light texture and natural composition can magically remove any signs of fatigue.

Also, if you didn’t get a good nights sleep and have to wake up early in the morning for important meetings or castings, I’d recommend using an eye mask to reduce puffiness. I personally like to use Trubeauty Silver Foil Under-Eye Mask- with brightening vitamin C, because it works more effectively than cucumbers.”

Hair Care

“Ok, first off-I just want to say that I love dry shampoo, it’s a lifesaver! Raise your hand if you have time, to wash your hair every single day. If your hand is up, then kudos to you! But if you’re like me, then dry shampoo can come to your rescue. I’m not saying that it should be used as a full-fledged alternative to the usual liquid shampoo. However, because it significantly refreshes the hair, I’d recommend using it in dire situations or as a disguise from time to time. The dry shampoo that I use is Living Proof Full Dry Volume Blast. After all, this shampoo helps with styling ones hair and lifting the roots.”

More Deets: Living Proof incorporate 3 major elements into its products: OFPMA (octafluoropentyl methacrylate) is considered to be the “healthy hair molecule” because it reduces frizz and oil. Thus, it’s a miracle product for those looking for this type of treatment. Another element used in these products is PBAE (poly beta-amino ester), the “volumizing molecule,” which deposits microscopic “dots” onto hair strands, to give the hair a thicker appearance. Lastly, there’s ETAS (expandable, textured aero-spheres), which is known as the  “volumizing and texturizing molecule,”  because of the tiny, air-filled spheres which are sprayed onto the hair, to enhance its volume and texture.

Hair Care (Continued I)

“To transition, I want to talk to the blondes! I’m speaking to you, because I’d like to direct your attention to Olaplex.

With regards to the process of breaking bonds at the molecular level, chemists have found a way to reunite the disrupted disulfide bonds and restore the hair’s strength, health and brilliance. It’s a MUST HAVE!

More Deets: This product is highly recommended in beauty circles and it’s been praised by celebrities like Kim Kardashian for its ability to repair damaged hair. Because it permanently reconnects damaged bonds in the hair, it is highly favored by the hair bleaching community. There are 3 products in the Olaplex series, and No. 3 which Elizaveta uses once a week, is the Hair Perfector.

According to Olaplex’s ambassador Chad Kenyon, “No. 3 is not a conditioning treatment. But it provides moisture.” It can also be used to repair relaxed and straightened hair as well. Note: one can use this product without having utilized the entire Olaplex coloring series.

Hair Care (Continued II)

“In addition, I use Nubi Boosting Hair Serum with Marula Oil, Vitamin E and Aloe Vera. Applying just a couple drops of this miraculous elixir, will not only save your locks from loss of moisture but it will increase hair growth and protect against split ends.”

More Deets: The primary ingredient in Nubi is Marula oil, which is a rich nourishing oil that absorbs easily without leaving a greasy residue. Marula oil has been used by women in Africa for thousands of years because it aids in reviving dry hair and skin. This product should reduce frizziness and leave the hair softer, silkier and more manageable.
